Drain the Swamp! - Part II

During the campaign of 2016 and subsequently, President Donald J. Trump has often  said that he would "drain the swamp".  Now we are over 8 months into his Presidency and still the country has little real understanding of what is meant by the phrase. It would seem that the President needs to define just exactly what are the parameters and when he could declare victory.

Otherwise, the phrase is meaningless.

The Constitutional Republic is under attack.

The Constitution of the United States along with the Bill of Rights were the fundamental bedrocks of our constitutional republic. However, in the years since 1776 and more importantly, following WWII, there have been many violations of those basic documents ... many in the name of secrecy which have brought us to the point where our nation has become not a constitutional republic but one that is controlled by interests that no longer believe in individual freedom but corporate or globalist ideology.

The chief proponents of these changes are the interests aligned with the Shadow Government and the Deep State as well as jurists like Seventh Circuit Judge Richard Posner who sees "absolutely no value" in studying the U.S. Constitution because "eighteenth-century guys" couldn't have possibly foreseen the culture and technology of today.

Thankfully, he is retiring and President Trump may be able to nominate another constitutional-upholding justice to that court.

The Shadow Government and the Deep State

There is a lot of confusion about what is the Shadow Government and the Deep State. In my time on Wall Street and while working closely with members of the intelligence community of which we hired several following their work in governmental organizations, I became aware of the fact that there were decisions made and taken that were outside of the constitutional framework of our government since at least 1962.

With the election of Donald J. Trump, the public has heard a lot more about the Shadow Government and the Deep State. To many citizens, the two represent the same thing. They are not.

Many journalists and others use these terms interchangeably but in actuality they are different. One of the best explanations of the difference is explained by Kevin Shipp, the former CIA whistleblower, in his YouTube videos. Kevin Shipp (author of "From The Company Of Shadows") was a decorated CIA officer who refused to look the other way in regard to government criminality and cover-up.

In effect, the Shadow Government sits above the Deep State. If you have an hour, Shipp's video will help you understand how our current government functions. Whether it will ever return to a constitutional republic is an open question!

The Shadow Government consists of the seventeen U.S. intelligence agencies and the media including the Washington Post and the New York Times. Its power comes from its ability to perform in secrecy along with National Security Orders.  It has functioned as a matrix system across every single administration going back to JFK. Following WWII after the dissolution of the OSS, the Council on Foreign Relations and the members of the Princeton Eight persuaded President Harry S. Truman to reconstitute a foreign intelligence effort which became the CIA. The CIA has since become the main node of the Shadow Government.

The Deep State is the second rung in the hierarchy and is a trillion dollar financial behemoth built upon the quest for power and money. It is made up of  military-defense interests. both government and private manufacturing, health-care organizations, the Treasury Department, Wall Street and the Federal Reserve. The swinging door between Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve shows the interfacing connection of the financial side of the Deep State.

The Deep State has evolved from the Military-Industrial Complex (MIC) which President Eisenhower warned the nation against over 60 years ago. Today, the MIC should be called the Military-Industrial Congressional Complex (MICC).

Through political contributions, the members of the Deep State are able to control the legislative process. If you don't believe so, ask yourself ... who wrote the Patriot Act of 2001 in just two days?  Or Obama's healthcare law and its 33,000 pages of regulations before it was passed.

The answer is that it was not any member of the House or Senate nor their staffs but lobbyists and/or consultants with ties to members of the Deep State.

Besides political contributions, many members of Congress, the military and government get cushy jobs following the exit from those organizations within the MIC. James Comey is just one example of being paid $6 million yearly for his work at Lockheed after leaving the Department of Justice.

Does it matter who controls the Executive and the Legislative arms of government?

So where do the President and Congress fit in? Are both–and Congress especially–under the total control of the Shadow Government through their political donations. Presidents may at times seek to defy the dictates of this dark force, but to no little, or no avail.

Remember that President John F. Kennedy wanted to destroy the CIA and had fired Allen J. Dulles for not informing him of a covert operation.  Shortly thereafter, Kennedy was assassinated.

Guess What? Allen J. Dulles was the chief investigator and Judge Earl W. Warren the head of the commission. Really?

Until President Donald J. Trump was elected, the Shadow Government and the Deep State were definitely in control.  However, Trump's election upended the sandbox. However, many members of Congress in the Republican Party are unwilling to work for Trump's agenda as they are controlled by the Deep State.

Most Democrat senators and Republican senators have much more in common with each other than with the voters.

To the GOP establishment led by Speaker Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Trump’s clearly the bigger threat than a counterpart across the aisle. Unfortunately, for many Republicans up for re-election in 2018, the Republican National Committee's purse-strings will be controlled by Trump unless he is impeached.  Of course, that might just start the second civil war.

The failure to "repeal and replace Obamacare" after seven years of constant discussion about its failures shows the voters that many in the Republican Party should be replaced.

The health-care industry should be subject to the Clayton and Sherman Anti-Trust Acts and the exemption to them afforded by the McCarran-Ferguson Act of 1970 should be eliminated. Immediately, the costs of healthcare would be reduced.

Hospitals and medical personnel would have to post prices in advance rather than after the event. Knee Replacements in Dallas should not range from $17,000 to $85,000 depending upon the hospital. If you can buy the same drug from the same U.S. manufacturer in Mexico for $2.70 for 10 pills, the cost in the U.S. should not be $14.00 per pill.

Much of the turmoil and the leaks during the first eight months of the Trump Administration can be traced to the efforts of the Shadow Government and the Deep State attempting to disrupt, if not destroy, Trump and his agenda.

Conclusion

It is obvious with Trump's efforts on Hurricane Harvey and his two trips to Texas and Louisiana that the "deplorables" are still with him.

However, the media by focusing upon Melania Trump's shoe choice walking to the helicopter before flying to see the devastation of Hurricane Harvey continue to try to paint the Trump's in an unflattering way.

The shoe flap just goes to show how biased the media is against anything remotely Trump.

Over  the next few months, we shall see if Trump is able to move forward his agenda despite the opposition of the Shadow Government and the Deep State.

The odds don't look too good.

But first, Trump had better define the term ... Drain the Swamp!

Otherwise, he will just flail around ... chasing ghosts!

But then - 'Tis Only My Opinion!
